Sony World Photography Awards 2027 — Student Competition

About the Competition

A worldwide photography student competition. Submit a series of 5–10 images responding to the 2027 brief. Deadline: November 27, 2026 at 16:00 GMT, as stated in the current overview; one rules clause still says 13:00 GMT, so submit early.

Prizes

The winning student receives Sony equipment, London ceremony travel with one tutor, exhibition and book inclusion. Their institution receives Sony equipment worth approximately €30,000.

Theme

Interpret Journeys through movement, change or transformation. Any photographic style or device may be used.

Eligibility

Photography students aged 18–30 at the deadline. Your institution must be registered with the World Photography Organisation. Check the official rules for image dates and publication restrictions.

Copyrights & Licensing

You retain copyright. Entry grants a worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable three-year licence for awards and photographer promotion, including exhibitions, publications and press use. Merchandise requires individual agreement. Read the full official rules.
