About the Competition

UPY2027 is scheduled to open November 1, 2026. Its organizer says the final dates will be confirmed nearer the time; an early-January closing date should not yet be treated as fixed.

Eligibility

The previous round offered paid packages for up to 3, 10 or 20 photographs, plus free Marine Conservation and Mobile Phone categories. Category restrictions, image authenticity and original-file checks apply. Confirm 2027 fees and rules when the call opens.

Copyrights & Licensing

Photographers retain copyright. UPY may reproduce selected images royalty-free to share results and promote the competition, with photographer credit. Sponsored categories may also be used in competition-related sponsor campaigns. Review the 2027 rules at launch.
