Wellcome Photography Prize 2027

Each of three category winners receives £10,000. An additional 22 finalists receive £1,000 each, with opportunities for international publicity.

Three categories: Striking solo photography; A storytelling series; The marvels of scientific and medical imaging. Topics include discovery research, mental health, infectious disease, and climate and health.

Free and open worldwide. Images must be created after December 31, 2021. Under-18s need parental consent. Series contain 3–5 images. AI-generated imagery is ineligible.

Copyright stays with the holder. Wellcome receives a worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive licence for prize purposes for three years. Shortlisted and winning images have perpetual prize and charitable-mission usage, including sublicensing. Revenue-generating merchandise attracts a reasonable fee.
