About the Competition

The Natural History Museum’s annual wildlife competition presents selected photographs in London and on tour. Its official entry page currently shows the 62nd competition as closed. A December 4, 2026 deadline for the next round is not yet confirmed there.

Prizes

The published adult grand prize is £10,000, with additional category and portfolio awards, exhibition opportunities and the WPY Portfolio book. Confirm the next round’s package when announced.

Wildlife, nature and conservation

Eligibility

Open internationally. The previous adult round charged £35 for up to 25 photographs, with waivers for ages 18–26 and residents of 114 listed countries. Young entries have separate rules. Ethical wildlife practice and original-file verification are required.
