About the Competition

CUPOTY’s eighth annual competition closed July 12, 2026. Its ninth edition is scheduled to open in May 2027, with the closing deadline still awaited. A separate themed challenge is scheduled for November 2026.

Prizes

The closed annual round offered £2,500 plus a macro kit for the overall winner, £250 to category winners and £300 to Young CUPOTY. Confirm the next annual round’s prizes.

Eligibility

The previous round offered six images for £22, fifteen for £33 and thirty for £44. Young CUPOTY offered fifteen for £5 for under-18s. Close-up feeling matters more than owning a macro lens; eleven categories had specific rules.

Copyrights & Licensing

Photographers retain copyright. Published rules grant a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free five-year licence for competition-related use of winning, Top 100 and shortlisted images, including related press, books and exhibitions.
